Logical Reasoning Guide
A guide to sequences, assumptions, arrangements, and pattern-based aptitude questions.
What Logical Reasoning Tests
Logical reasoning measures how well you identify patterns, test assumptions, and follow rules. It is common in screening tests because it shows problem-solving ability independent of job-specific knowledge.
Common Areas
- Number and letter sequences.
- Analogies and classifications.
- Seating and ordering arrangements.
- Assumption and conclusion questions.
- Visual pattern logic.
Practice Method
When stuck, write the rule in plain language. For example: plus 2, then plus 4, then plus 6. For arrangements, draw a simple table or row and fill only facts you know for sure.
Exam Tip
If a pattern has two possible rules, test both against every item in the sequence before choosing.
